Lefase featuring BLK JKS & Riders Against The Storm

about

"Tshepang Ramoba´s latest single “Lefase” comes ahead of an EP, due to drop in June, and is a soothing ode to the world – and earth – at large. Pivoted on a singular bassline which serves as the intro before jangling guitar fleshes things out, the track navigates a crooning R&B continuum, while a driving hip-hop verse or two – via Texas-based duo Riders Against The Storm (RAS) – injects halfway through. But at the core it’s a moving, deeply African tribute to the land, told in Sepedi and inspired by a struggle song by Blondie Makhene. The video keeps things funky with an off-beat, almost trippy, animation. Disembodied heads float through space, an assembly of what I can only term wise men take to a mountaintop. There’s an undeniably wholesome spiritual context within it, if you look close enough.Ramoba delivers with the sort of simplicity and poise that pits him, almost by accident, a head and shoulders above the rest."

lyrics

Lefase le, le hlatswitswe
Le hlatswitswe ke bo malome ba Rena
Lefase le, le hlatswitswe
Eupya le honu ga Rena Lona
Lefase le le hlatswitswe
Le hlatswitswe ke bo Rakgadi ba Rena.
Lefase le le hlatswitswe
Eupya lehono ga Rena bona.

Ha iyo ha iyo ha iyo Tate
Ha iyo ha iyo ha iyo Tate

Going back to the land get ya hands off me
iI you ain't listening then you dance off beat
See i flow like a river you will never damn we
Rambling fearless dive deep into my dreams
In a stream wireless downloading the scheme
What i see is a choice man versus machine

Tricking the screens
Collective Defeat
When will you have all the likes that you need
You used to live free now you like the deceit
Earth will be here when you're ready to grieve
Humility comes when you burn at the knees

Should i stay? should i leave? is there space in-between?
Is the story complete? Let me dance with these trees
Reform Return Transform in the heat
Your Heart is alive when you burst at the seams

Catch a star falling in my palm like a seed called from the source with his own destiny
